Willingen in the Upland lives by two seasons.
From mid-December into April the village belongs to the snow, the slopes and the ski jump. The rest of the year to the hiking trails, the bike routes and evenings on the terrace.

The Ettelsberg ski area is a few minutes from the house. The Mühlenkopfschanze is the largest large hill ski jump in the world and fills the village with people in winter.

In summer the ski area becomes a hiking area. The cable car keeps running, the bike trails are open, and from the top you can see far across the Sauerland.
